Memorial Day is the day we remember
there are lots of people in the world who
don’t want the United States to exist.
And it’s the day we
thank those who have sacrificed themselves
to keep us free.
Today Pat and I went hiking on the Brumley Family Nature Preserve. This was the first time we have been there and we were very impressed. The parking lot off New Hope Church Road was well done. There’s over 615 acres of land there and 14 miles of hiking trails dedicated to hiking, jogging, and mountain biking.
We walked the Wood Duck Way Trail. It was about 80% shade and mostly level. The scenery was beautiful. You can see my full photoset here:

We also saw this really cool car abandoned in the woods:
