Yesterday I went on a walk through the woods at Eno River State Park with some friends. Even though it’s the middle of winter, it was a beautiful sunny day. I enjoyed taking pictures of the woods, the river, and the swimming hole at the old quarry site.
But it was also interesting to see the remnants of the industry and infrastructure that used to exist around that quarry. You could still see the outlines of roads, rows of planted trees, and bits of metal, rubber, and concrete sticking out of the land at odd places. It was kinda gave you an appreciation for archeology.
