Today Pat and I attended the annual Art In Bloom exhibit at the North Carolina Museum Of Art which has 50 “floral interpretations of art in the Museum’s galleries.” The place was jam packed and I practiced my crowd dodging and photography skills at the same time. I have a hard-fast rule at events like this that I never ask anyone to move or get out of the way for a picture.
From photography perspective, I’m not super happy. The challenge was to get the floral arrangement and its associated work of art in the shot at the same time. Problem is I usually could not get both in focus at the same time. Sometimes I lucked out and it looked good. But there were other times when I wished that both could have been in focus. The only way I know to do that is to increase the aperture to a high f-stop. but that then requires backing up from the subject some which makes it all that much more difficult to get a clear shot at things. Live and learn.
